Blood:Water, an equipping agency that works with grassroots organizations in Africa to solve the HIV/AIDS and water crises, brought Reed Public Relations on to raise awareness for a new initiative, The Next Million. The organization had tremendous success bringing clean water to one million people in Africa in just ten years and recruited RPR to help with their efforts to bring water to the next million in just three years. As our relationship with Blood:Water grew, we were called on to help with its third annual Red Tie Gala as well as its Save a Drink, Save a Life campaign.
STRATEGIES + TACTICS
RPR worked with the Blood:Water team to develop a list of target markets and begin outreach to local, regional and national publications, radio stations and television networks to tell the story behind Blood:Water as an organization in addition to telling the story behind their co-founder, Jena Lee Nardella.
Using an individualized approach for each project, our team brought a spotlight to Blood:Water’s impact in Africa since our partnership began in October 2014. To date, the organization’s mission has been highlighted through profiles in The Tennessean and Knoxville News Sentinel, event write-ups in Nashville Lifestyles and The Tennessean’s 12th & Broad, and an interview on Nashville’s independent radio Lightning 100.
