Name: Kayla Wood

Job Title: Intern

Enneagram Number: Nine (Wing One)

Where is home for you?

I’m originally from Troy, MI, but I’ve spent the most time in Maryville, TN. At this point in my life, Nashville feels the most like home!

What do you love most about living in Nashville?

Even after five years, I’m still finding fun things to do here! I love exploring new coffee shops and have made it a personal goal to visit every shop in Nashville (although my bank account definitely will not thank me later). It’s also really fun to live in a city with an MLS soccer team, and I’m excited to go to more Nashville SC games in the future.

There’s a ton of perks to living here, but my favorite part about Nashville is the strong sense of community I feel and the incredible friends I’ve made here.

If you could be a superhero, which one would you be?

I’d have to choose Wonder Woman! She’s incredibly tough but also values peace above all else. Plus, how cool would it be to have super strength?

What is a crazy story you love to tell at cocktail parties?

When I was studying abroad in Italy, some friends and I wanted to visit the Amalfi Coast, and we accidentally booked an Airbnb in a small mountain town with no taxi service. We never made it to our destination, got lost several times and ended up having to walk three hours down a mountain just to catch our train! It was definitely a stressful experience, but it’s one of my favorite stories to tell and always makes me laugh.

What do you do for fun?

I’ve played soccer my whole life and frequently play with friends around Nashville. I also love running, hiking, swimming, traveling and anything that gets me outdoors.

Board games are another favorite pastime of mine, and I love getting friends together for game nights. In my spare time, I also write poetry.

What’s your spirit animal and why?

I’m going to have to go with a dolphin! I’m a pretty optimistic, community-oriented person and always try my best to keep the peace (not to mention that I love to swim!).

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I would have to say either pasta, ice cream or CheezIts. I know what you’re thinking… “CheezIts for the rest of your life?!” But yes, absolutely.

Favorite quote?

“The life of many a person could probably be changed if only someone would make him feel important.” -Dale Carnegie

Last words?

10/10 would recommend working at REED 🙂
